My new plan for marketing the squash centre at the Sport, Sports and Sporting Activities Centre involved partnering with local hotels, guest houses and bed and breakfasts.
The idea was that the squash centre would advertise squash coaching weekends, squash weekend tournaments and squash competitions, possibly even mid-week break squash coaching, mid-week break squash tournaments or midweek break squash competitions for visitors to attend at the Sport, Sports and Sporting Activities Centre during the day and local hotels, guest houses and bed and breakfasts would provide their accommodation for the nights.
As a marketing strategy, it coupled people’s desire to get away from it all for a holiday with the benefits of increasing their fitness and health – two major selling points.
If they were already squash players, they could enjoy playing squash, a game they already loved.
If the visitors were beginners, I could easily supply individual squash coaching or group squash coaching as they wished.
The squash centre would be doing what the squash centre was good at and local hotels, guest houses and bed and breakfasts would be doing what they were good at which was feeding them and providing sleeping accommodation.
My new plan might actually cut the costs of advertising too because much of the advertising would now be paid for by the local hotels, guest houses and bed and breakfasts. The squash centre provided an excellent extra reason for coming to the area with its provision of squash facilities, squash centre courses, midweek breaks and weekend breaks.
