New job managing squash centre

Keen to get on with playing squash and coaching squash in what I saw as the perfect squash centre, I had accepted the job of Squash Centre Manager, given up my job in Scotland as a freelance squash coach and travelled down to Devon to stay in accommodation at a local hotel bed and breakfast.

I then set to work to make the squash centre at the Sport, Sports and Sporting Activities Centre the perfect squash environment I’d always dreamed of.

This wasn’t difficult because their new squash centre was built to the highest specifications. It had four courts, each with seating areas for people to view matches and applaud players’ strokes. There were changing rooms of the highest standards and showers which were a pleasure to use after a vigorous match.

All around the squash centre lay the green countryside and the beautiful grounds of the Sport, Sports and Sporting Activities Centre which were available for a gentle stroll, a vigorous jog or just sitting and chatting with friends.

If there was a need to refuel one’s body after vigorous exercise, there were dining and canteen facilities in the attractively and quaintly ancient manor buildings that formed the centre of the sports complex.

In future, there was also the possibility of a cooperative synergy between the game of squash played at the squash centre and the other games and sports at the Sport, Sports and Sporting Activities Centre such as tennis, badminton and golf.

Everything in my squash career now seemed perfect.
